You can use the square stainless steel unblockable cover if you have a pool or spa with a single or dual main drain that meets the following criteria: A 26" square cover can be used if the drain sump is 18" x 18" or less and the maximum flow rate is 495 gpm or less. A 32" square cover can be used if the drain sump is 24" x 24" or less and the maximum flow rate is 675 gpm or less. A 44" square cover can be used if the drain sump is 36" x 36" or less and the maximum flow rate is 975 gpm or less.
You can use the following stainless steel drain cover if you have a pool or spa with dual (or more) main drains: Pools with dual drains are required to have an ASME approved cover, but NOT an unblockable cover. A 20" square cover can be used if the drain sump is 12" x 12" or less and the maximum flow rate is 233 gpm or less. The drains must be at least 36" apart (center to center). If they are not, you might be able to use a 32" or 44" square stainless steel unblockable cover above installed diagonally. If your sump is greater than 12" x 12", you must use the square stainless steel unblockable cover above.
